Have you ever prayed for one thing and received something different—something better? We’re told in Mark 11:24 that if we believe we have received what we ask in prayer, it will be ours. Often times, the answers to my prayers come in the form of meeting new people. When I prayed for the ability to become a writer, He introduced me to the greatest critique group in the world. When I prayed for direction in my writing, He introduced me to a successful Christian writer and blessed a member of my writing group with a published article in a Christian magazine. Our prayers may not always be answered in the way we envisioned (I can say with almost 100% certainty that there is not a brand new BMW 550i parked in my garage), but they do get answered. So during this Christmas season, may we all feel the blessings of God through each new person we meet.
